Booking InquiryGill Landry is a two-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and visual artist. A Louisiana native, he started as a busker living out of Volkswagens on the streets of New Orleans and the Pacific Northwest. After immersing himself in the rich tapestry of American folk music he joined the Nashville group Old Crow Medicine Show, whom he worked with from their early van-and-trailer days to Grammy wins and induction to the Grand Ole Opry. In 2015, Landry left the band to pursue his solo creative endeavors.
With six solo albums on various labels, Landry has revealed an ever-evolving voice and unwavering commitment to his craft. Gill’s latest album, ‘Cinnamon Canyon Blues,’ which was produced in London by Ted Dwane (Mumford & Sons) will be released on June 7th, 2024. Here’s a bit about the album:
“Circumstantially homeless when the pandemic hit, I landed in a place called Cinnamon Canyon in the Sierra Nevada foothills of California. What I thought would only be months became years, which was plenty long enough for the land to break me in many ways I unknowingly needed breaking. This album [Cinnamon Canyon Blues] was written over my first two years there in near total isolation but for a barn cat named ‘Killer’ and the mountain. The songs on this album are small portraits of some of that journey.”
Produced by Ted Dwane, Paul Frith, and Gill it features:
Gill Landry – Vocals, Guitars, Pedal Steel, Piano, & Harmonica,
Chris Maas (Mumford, Sting) – Drums & Percussion
Nick Pini (Laura Marling) – Upright & Electric Bass
Klara Soderberg (First Aid Kit) – Backing Vocals
Nick Etwell (Mumford, Filthy Six) – Trumpet and Flugelhorn,
Georgina Leach & Odessa Jorgensen – Violin
Malcolm “Bubba” McCarthy – Keys
A seasoned road dog with thousands of shows under his belt, Gill’s shared stages with Laura Marling, Justin Townes Earle, Brandi Carlile, Ben Howard, Mumford & Sons, The Felice Brothers, Bruce Hornsby, Ben Harper, Warren Haynes, Nathaniel Rateliff, to name a few.
