Booking Inquiry

Hannah Miller writes dark and soothing music that in the words of one perceptive listener on YouTube “gives you half a feeling of happiness and half of loneliness”. Originally from Alabama and educated in North Carolina, she made the move to Nashville, TN in 2010, and there quickly discovered her love of writing music for film/tv. Her dark, ambient style has been heard on a lot on TV shows, including seasons one and two of This Is Us, Station 19, Virgin River, Sons of Anarchy, The Following and Pretty Little Liars as well as in several indie films and a smattering of national advertising campaigns for companies like Pitney Bowes and DSW. She was honored to be nominated for a Guild of Music Supervisors Award for her work on “This Is Us” in 2018. She recently finished up a couple of tours as support for the folk duo The Secret Sisters and has had the privilege of opening shows for Langhorne Slim, Elizabeth Cook, Ellis Paul and Kenny Loggins. A stout and scrappy DIY indie artist since her beginnings, she has fan funded every release since 2008- including 3 full length albums, 6 EPs and too many singles to mention. She currently continues to write and release music regularly from her home of Nashville, TN.

PRESS:

“Like Brandi and Rachael Yamagata, Southern songstress Hannah Miller is blessed with a modern old-timey sound. Instantly captivating…Miller makes every note count.” – Performing Songwriter

“Dare we say Miller, a onetime girl-with-guitar troubadour, has found the courage to channel Dusty Springfield into a sound for the next generation of American music enthusiasts? This is a brave and adventurous record, sparsely appointed and eminently soulful — a cutting-edge expedition of folk and pop.” – The Bluegrass Situation

“Miller’s voice can best be described by the three s’s: sexy, sultry, and soulful. It contains the beauty of an Emmylou Harris, but also the hint of danger and remorse that are exemplified by Jolie Holland or Feist.” – Atlanta Music Guide

“Alabama-raised, Nashville-based singer/songwriter Hannah Miller has quietly built a reputation and growing following for her thoughtful, lovingly rendered folk/pop that also taps into her roots of gospel and soulful Americana. Miller’s almost dispassionate vocal style, reminiscent at times of the languid cool of Cowboy Junkies’ Margot Timmons, communicates as simply and effectively as a knowing glance.” – Direct Current

“Nothing I could do is ever good enough,” observes Hannah Miller in her haunting new single, “Fool’s Gold,” which sees the Nashville singer-songwriter reckoning with a one-sided relationship. In “Fool’s Gold” (produced by Neilson Hubbard) Miller’s kerosene vocals are suspended in an ethereal, finger-plucked arrangement.” – American Songwriter

“Raised by ex-hippies that left the movement to follow Jesus, Hannah Miller grew up inspired by love, simplicity, and gospel, all of which resonate in her songs. Her music is soulful and honest, sympathetic and breezy, with the touching sincerity of a songwriter who wears her heart on her sleeve.” – Performer Magazine

“…splendidly dark, absolutely alluring and stunningly simple.” – Three Chords and the Truth UK
